BOAT - PRIVATE PLANE

Travel to Andros Lighthouse is easy with a little planning. From Nassau, Bahamas Ferries has three trips weekly that leave from Potters Cay at the foot of Paradise Island bridge.

The ride is a short 39 mile air conditioned comfortable pleasant trip. While cruising along when you see the ocean turn from aqua to a deep blue you are over the "tongue of the ocean". Here the water drops from a depth of 25 feet to 6,000 feet, a diving and fishing paradise. The US Navy also uses this area for submarine testing.

TRAVEL BY PERSONAL BOAT

If you are sailing or motoring by boat, safe mooring and dockage is available in Fresh Creek. Traveling by boat set your GPS, or Loran, for Andros Lighthouse Marina, Bahamas Lat. 24º 45.00' N. Lon. 77º 46.00' W. Call on channel 16 for navigational instructions. Electrical 115 VAC, water hookups, Cable TV, Laundry. Andros Town is a Port of Entry for the Bahamas, check in with the Harbour Master.

PRIVATE PLANE

If traveling by private plane, Andros Town Airport has a 4,000 foot runway, UNICOM 172.8. Plan your flight for daylight flight only. Andros Town Airport is a Port of Entry for the Bahamas.
